Sandy Carson
When Sandy Carson mounts his bike, you can never really tell what's in store. He's quite capable of teasing then beating the life out of all terrain--including dirt, street, park and pools--and any other object that he encounters all by way of some of the most original lines out there. To be sure, there's no shortage of energy or skills flowing from this man.
Born June 6, 1972, Sandy took the fat chance of moving to the U.S. clear from Scotland--all in the name of BMX. The purpose was to, "Keep my mind wide open to the world and see where it takes me," by traveling and learning more about the grand scheme of life outside the small town where he grew up. A lot has happened since then, and although various trials have been thrown at him from all angles, you'd never really be able to tell. To this day, Sandy still gives so much to us all. We can read his up-to-date, true-life column in Dig; admire insane photos and footage of him tearing it up; or, better yet, witness him riding in real time, in the flesh.
Off-bike, you can often find this devout vegan nibblin' in thrift stores, sippin' a cup o' coffee, or, when the artistic impulse rises, cooking, playing guitar in his band 'Iglomat', and exhibiting his photos with his most recent show 'NoisePop' curated by Andres the Giant's Shepherd Fairey. Aye, a Renaissance man he be, that Sandy Carson. Chalk up another one for the stellar etnies BMX team.
